For some time now, Valve has been pushing the Steam Next Fest format, giving players insights into upcoming, as yet unpublished titles. The next edition has now been scheduled for October.
In keeping with the digital E3 2021, the last Steam Next Fest took place from June 16 to 22 and again offered you access to a number of demos and trial versions of upcoming players. The format turns out to be successful enough for Valve that the next edition has now been officially announced.
Accordingly, the next Steam Next Fest will take place from October 1st to 7th, 2021. Many demos, live chats with developers and live streams for upcoming titles are of course also planned for this episode; a line-up is expected for a later date, when the event really gets closer.
For developers, the Steam Next Fest is also the chance to get feedback on their upcoming projects from the community at an early stage and to make improvements to their own titles.
The format was originally started as a Steam Game Festival and only made its debut in December 2019 on the occasion of The Game Awards. At the beginning only a dozen playable demos were available, in the edition in February 2021 there were already over 500 titles.
