Will the PC house number Steam soon expand its business area to consoles? According to Valve CEO Gambe Newell, this could happen soon.
It looks like Valve could put out its feelers after years of PC rule and soon make Steam available to consoles in some form or another. During an interview in New Zealand by a Reddit user Odysseic Valve CEO Game Newell also answered questions from the audience. When asked if Steam would be coming to consoles, Newell replied, “You will have a better understanding of that by the end of the year.”
What exactly that means is of course speculation. On the one hand, it could mean that Valve is planning to publish some of its exclusive games on consoles, on the other hand, opening the Steam store to consoles would be a possible interpretation. What do you think? How is Valve going to expand Steam to consoles soon, or is there more suggestion here than will ultimately be implemented?
