Steam once again broke its own record.
Almost a month ago, steam Started to break its historically active user record with more than 20 million concurrent records. This is just the beginning, because the platform has exceeded that number several times in the past few weeks.
The latest record was set on the weekend, with a total of 24,535,923 concurrent users, even by Steam standards, it has reached an alarming level. As the corona virus blockade continues worldwide, this number is likely to climb again.
For its part, Valve made some changes to better adapt to all these flows and help reserve bandwidth for everyone. For games you have n’t played recently, Steam now delays game updates by up to a few days. Although Valve has not yet limited the download speed, other platforms (such as PlayStation Network) already have it.
All of this traffic can help everyone on Steam, including free games. For example, Valve ’s own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive recently saw a historic leap in active players.
