  • Several thousand games have disappeared from Steam.
  • The relevant developers and publishers failed to add an age rating.
  • However, the titles removed from sale could reappear with an age rating.

Some games have disappeared on Steam and Valve announced a few months ago that this could happen. Publishers and developers had enough time to prevent this.

Specifically, the issue was that several thousand games had no age rating. According to the decision of the Federal Center for the Protection of Children and Young People in the Media, the classification should have been added. Loud Valve Those responsible would only have had to initiate a content assessment.

This didn’t happen for some games even after release, which led to the wish list of players like Triky313 and brandmeist3r shows several empty slots that only read “Content unavailable” and “This content is no longer for sale”.

It is unclear exactly which games are affected. After all, Valve has not published a list on which the games are listed. Nevertheless, at least the wish lists of the two players indicate that, among other things, Ark 2 and Portal 2 – The Final Hour are affected.

Developers and publishers still have the opportunity to offer their games for sale again if they subsequently ensure an age rating. What this means for you is that even if the games have temporarily disappeared from your wish list, they may be available again in Germany at a later date.

If you have already purchased the affected games, then the games do not belong to you, but you should still find them in your Steam library as usual. If this is not the case, you can contact Steam support.
