If you log into Steam now, you’ll find Lunar New Year Specials Currently in progress. Although Valve has said it will cancel and replace it with a spring sale in March.
Back in September of last year, Valve went on to detail all expected sales dates. In that blog post, it also shared that the winter sale and the Chinese New Year sale are too close. Therefore, the latter will be canceled and replaced by a spring sale in March. That said, Valve did note that publishers and developers can discount their games for the Lunar New Year period if they so choose.
Right now, if you head to Steam’s homepage, you’ll find a banner for the Lunar New Year Sale, as well as tons of discounted games. This is actually a standalone Steam sale, running from January 16th to January 23rd as part of the East Meets West initiative led by Curve Games.
In a press release, Xindong CEO Dash Huang shared: “Video games have always been a great way to bring people from different backgrounds together, and this event provides players with an innovative platform to explore strange worlds.”
So, more than 150 publishers came together to discount more than 750 games in this sale. Some notable titles include:
- death stranding
- Four blessings
- Hell: Blades
- Dyson Sphere Project
- Halo infinite
- Forza Horizon 5
- persona 5 royal
- rising story
- my time at sandrock
- gear 5
- Scarlet Nexus
- Legend of Sword and Fairy 7
- Risk of Rain 2
