Stellar Blade: After censorship allegations: Studio thanks you for feedback

The outfits of the main character Eve are always a topic of conversation about the action title Stellar Blade. Most recently, a petition made headlines accusing the studio Shift Up of censorship. Now the developers have published a post thanking you for the feedback. Interesting.

But what exactly happened? Resourceful users found that Stellar Blade’s day one patch adjusted some outfits slightly. Absurdly deep necklines were defused with smaller pieces of fabric and the Shift Up studio also changed offensive graffiti. Some fans didn’t like that, especially ex-Blizzard employee Mark Kern. He even started a petition against the censorship of Stellar Blade, demanding that the changes be reversed.

Of course, Shift Up didn’t miss this topic and now the studio has spoken out with a posting on Twitter (or just X). However, no direct changes or other steps to change the situation are promised.

Instead, it simply says: “Thank you to all of our Stellar Blade fans for your passion and feedback. Stay tuned for updates.” So there seem to be at least some kind of changes in the planning.

What makes this step interesting is the fact that game director Hyung-Tae Kim recently stated that Stellar Blade in its current form corresponds to the studio’s artistic vision. However, according to him, we now also have to convince the fans of this and discussions are being held internally about how to proceed.

Either way, an interesting topic that is currently emerging. After all, Eve’s outfits are anything but prudish, as we already explained in our Stellar Blade test. We are definitely excited to see how the topic develops further.
