The sci-fi strategy game Stellaris has been persistent on the PC market since 2016, and since 2019 also on consoles. Now the next new content is planned for the long-standing title.
Paradox Interactive has announced Galactic Paragons, the next major expansion to the long-running sci-fi strategy game Stellaris. This should be available in the coming month from May 9, 2023 and focuses on more in-depth character and story progress. This should allow you to customize, refine and improve your leaders.
Thanks to the expanded council mechanics in the add-on, you can use the leaders you deploy to support your empire’s vision. There are also additional civics and more to discover.
Officially, the features of the new add-on are given as follows:
- New council mechanics: Specialized roles and perks are included in Galactic Paragons to support the new Council mechanic in Stellaris. Dozens of unique Council Roles are available to players based on their civilizations and government types. They can unlock additional positions as their empire develops.
- New Dynamic Leaders: Players recruit, upgrade and guide the leaders of their empire through the centuries. You can shape them by choosing their traits and veteran class, and guide them to their fate until they retire – or are destroyed!
- Galactic Heroes: Rulers bring famous role models to their council: Unique leaders with their own graphics, events and stories can join the empire and bring their own benefits to the government. Or you can discover four legendary role models with sophisticated event chains and unique mechanisms!
- New traditions, civics, and more:
- The new Under One Dominion Origin tells the story of the leader who founded the player’s empire.
- Eight new state elements on the theme of governance, from immortalizing the personalities of past leaders in digital archives to a heavily streamlined council election via a corporate charter.
- 12 new veteran classes.
- Hundreds of new leader traits.
- Two new heritage trees that offer players new edicts and improved leaders.
- New ships, graphics and story content.
The developers have also planned the release of the Gemini update with version 3.8. Here you get numerous quality-of-life updates at hand. In addition to Galactic Paragons, two multiplayer game modes are also available in open beta testing: cooperative PvE and competitive PvP. In the former, you can join forces with other players to form a single empire and compete against enemy empires. The mode can also be used to teach friends the game or to divide responsibilities in empire management.
In competitive PvP, groups of players can go head-to-head against enemy empires. Realms can also be locked and password access set up for competitive players.
