Disney has finally released what Stitch looks like in the live-action Lilo & Stitch Remake, and it's just a little uncomfortable.
Just last week we got a trailer for a beloved animated film that's being adapted into a cash-grabbing live-action remake (How to Train Your Dragon), and now we've got another trailer for This time it's from Disney instead of DreamWorks. The Mouse House released a 30-second trailer yesterday, which mainly shows Stitch pretending to be Godzilla and destroying a sandcastle that looks like the iconic Disney castle, among other ordinary sandcastles. You won't find much else besides the ending where a CGI character is placed in the margins to interact with some text (in this case the release date, which is May 23, 2025, by the way). It looks very simple at first glance!
The film's official synopsis doesn't sound any different from the original synopsis, noting that Lilo and Stitch is about “a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch. A bond formed between people, the latter designed to be a destructive force.” Original director Chris Sanders returns to voice Stitch, with Dean Fleischer Kemp (Marcel in Shoes) taking over as director.

As for the rest of the cast, first-time actress Maia Kealoha will play Lilo, and Sydney Agudong (“On My Block”) will play her sister Nani. Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) will voice Jumba, Billy Magnussen (Game Night) will voice Pleakley, and Hannah Waddingham (Ted. Russo) will also appear in it as a yet-to-be-announced character, but you can probably place a safe bet that she's the Grand Councilor.
Since the movie is set to be released in less than a year, I'm sure a full trailer won't be too far away, but in the meantime, Disney is hoping to make big money this holiday season with Moana 2, which is already in theaters This week.
