Strangers Things is back… but not in the way you think!
We know it: Stranger Things was a smash hit. The TV series then garnered the best Netflix audiences (Squid Games has since come to win the bet) and unleashed monstrous hype thanks to its deliciously retro atmosphere that flirts with horror, good-natured vibes and nostalgia: A cocktail that the company wants us to sip to the end.
And by that we mean a brand new, unexpected project: a game ! This game, called Stranger Things: The First Shadow, will stand out as a prequel to the events that we already know. Here’s the official pitch:
Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister doesn’t take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that starting over isn’t as easy as hoped…and the shadows of the past have a long arm.
A very important prequel
Those who have seen “Stranger Things” will know what this piece is about (and if you haven’t already, beware of spoilers): It focuses on the youth of Henry Creel, the series’ main antagonist, who becomes the intimidating Venca.
Netflix has also released a first video teaser: The first shadow “could be the key to what’s to come” in season 5. In other words, the scenario of this play would indeed be important to understand everything in Season 5.
On the way to Season 5
Of course, it remains to be seen whether The First Shadow will be adapted in our French cinemas or only in English cinemas, which will inevitably limit access.. We have no doubt that summaries will come out, and perhaps the play will come out in literary form as wella bit like Harry Potter and the cursed child.
