Netflix has announced that it intends to further intensify its own efforts in the gaming sector. They also rely on one of their own biggest brands: Stranger Things!
The horror series “Stranger Things” is one of the biggest numbers on the Netflix stream ing service. Fans are currently looking forward to the final fifth season of the series, in which hopefully all open storylines will be resolved. Detached from this, there will also be supplies on the gaming front.
After there were already several (smaller) titles for the brand, Netflix now announced Stranger Things VR today. For this purpose, the support of the development studio Tender Claws, which was previously responsible for Wide Ocean Big Jacket, is brought on board.
What’s the matter? In fact, in Stranger Things VR, Netflix lets you slip into the role of villain Vecna himself. As the antagonist of the fourth season, you will meet the other characters of the series and have to get into their memories and dreams.
Warning, there are sometimes spoilers for the fourth season:
From this point of view, Stranger Things VR also gives you a little more background about Vecna before the series itself enters the fifth and final season, especially since there is also more information about the transformation of Henry Creel into Vecna and his influence on the events in earlier ones Seasons of the series will be highlighted.
Within the dreams of the other characters, you must use telekinetic powers to fight both humans and creatures.
Stranger Things VR is supposed to appear on “major VR platforms”, but it was initially left open which ones that would be in detail. Release is planned for winter 2023.
