Four months have passed since its release, but Deadpool and Wolverine continue to be one of the most talked about films on social media, and no wonder. The film has been a success with both audiences and critics, thanks in large part to the variety of cameos that surprised the public during its screening and that, fortunately, were not leaked before the premiere.
One of the priorities during production was to avoid any type of leak about these cameos, and to achieve this, the team used the most ingenious strategies. One of them was related to the script: the real names of the characters who would appear in cameos were replaced by the names of the protagonists of the series Stranger Things. For example, characters like Hopper, Eleven or Billy were used to refer to heroes like Elektra, Blade or Gambit, in order to mislead even the production team.
However, although these measures were taken, some clues in the dialogue made the identity of certain characters relatively evident. For example, in the case of Gambit, although his name was not mentioned directly, reference was made to a deck of cards, an unmistakable detail for the mutant.
Despite this, the strategies worked and, along with other anti-leak measures, they managed to keep the cameos a secret until the premiere. This significantly increased the audience's surprise and excitement, turning the film into a phenomenon both on and off the screen.
