The streaming provider Dyn wants to support young people with the sports promotion concept “Move Your Sport”. You can find out exactly how this works and which projects are supported here.
- The “Move Your Sport” project is financed through subscription revenue.
- In 2024, millions will go to the partner leagues.
- The leagues invest the money in their own concepts.
The broadcaster Dyn would like to support the promotion of young talent in the sports they offer with a very simple concept. The “Move Your Sport” initiative collects ten percent of the net income from subscriptions to promote sports. You can see here what subscribers have to do and exactly how the money is used.
This way you donate ten percent of your subscription
First of all, it should be said that this initiative does not cause any additional costs for subscribers. When you take out a package, you can decide for yourself which sports deserve your support. This is done by clicking on the respective tile. If you missed or overlooked this, you can adjust your choice in the settings. On Dyn you currently have the choice between the sports of handball, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and hockey.
This is how the funds are distributed
After about six months of broadcasting, the streaming service announced that a seven-figure sum was flowing to the partner leagues. This refers to the easyCredit BBL, the Liqui Moly HBL, the Table Tennis Bundesliga, the Volleyball Bundesliga and the Hockey Bundesliga. In the end, they can decide for themselves how the money is invested in their programs. In a press release, the respective managing directors revealed exactly how the funds should be used.
This is how the leagues support young talent
Stefan Holz, managing director of the BBL, states that projects in the promotion of young talent with social sustainability are directly supported. The initiatives ‘Sport networked’ and ‘BasKIDball’, supported by Dirk Nowitzki, are specifically mentioned. But it doesn’t stop there, because other actions would also be helped. In the area of handball, young players who get involved in the top leagues would be rewarded. In addition, the training of youth coaches should be encouraged.
The Volleyball Bundesliga is taking a different path. According to managing director Daniel Sattler, the funds here are used entirely to attract new members. The table tennis Bundesliga follows a similar approach. The aim here is to promote the sport, especially in schools, through new working groups and contacts in the communities.
The Hockey Bundesliga focuses primarily on ensuring that young talent joins the Bundesliga teams at an early stage. One measure for this is support for the U18 Final Fours for both women and men.
