Capcom continues to deliver fresh content in Street Fighter 6 and is releasing the next fighter, Ed, in February. This also received its first gameplay in a trailer.
This month, namely on February 27, 2024, Ed, the next fighter in the current fighting game Street Fighter 6, will be available. The formidable boxer will then be honored on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series
Accompanying the new character, there will also be a fresh stage called “Ruined Lab”, which is intended to visually illustrate the aftermath of the fall of the Shadaloo and shows the laboratory lying in shards. Holders of the Year 1 Ultimate Pass or the Ultimate Edition of the game will automatically receive the stage when Ed is released.
Ed is a well-known character from the franchise; He first appeared in Street Fighter V when he rejected M. Bison’s evil intentions. He managed to escape the Shadaloo Organization’s grasp and created the Neo Shadaloo in the hopes of helping others with similar problems. Compared to his previous appearance, his attacks have changed considerably, as they are now all punches. However, it should continue to maintain simplified control and also receive expanded inputs for classic control.
According to official information, its knockouts offer the following:
- Psycho Flicker: A quick, ranged flicker jab that can be cast in one of three directions, catching the opponent defenseless and is fundamental to Ed’s ability to gain control of areas. When the button is pressed, Ed uses the Psycho Snatcher from Street Fighter V and draws opponents closer to him with psychological power
- Psycho Blitz: Unleashes a series of punches coated in psychic power
- Psycho Storm: Ed’s Level 1 Super Art allows him to blast opponents with a series of high-speed flicker jabs
- Psycho Cannon: Ed’s Level 2 Super Art, originally from Street Fighter V,
- Psycho Chamber: Ed’s Level 3 Super Art turns opponents into his own personal punching bag by tying their hands and feet together – hit it, in the name of the Neo Shadaloo
The character will be available to all holders of the Year 1 Character Pass, Year 1 Ultimate Pass, the Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition immediately upon release. There is also an alternative outfit inspired by Street Fighter V.
In addition to the new fighter, various quality of life updates are also being introduced, including the ability to switch button displays on PC and an extra lighting feature being added to photo mode.
