The sun. It is the life-giving center of our solar system and billions of its sisters populate the universe. A new survival base building game The Green Hell maker wants to let us experience what it feels like to experience a less mild-tempered home star every day.
Welcome to StarRupture. On Steam there is already a shop page.
A world of disasters
StarRupture is literally and on multiple levels about survival on a planet ruled by eruptions of its star, called Ruptura, are literally flambéed. This causes the environment to change repeatedly, which you have to adapt to. On top of that, the open world inherently has different biomes.
The name is program: The English word rupture stands for break or tear in Europe. Both describe well what Ruptura does to his planet: he destroys life and the environment on it with immense energies.
Every time he interrupts everyday processes and represents a shock to the usual. Every rupture brings change. The developers also tell you more about this in their first devlog.

StarRupture: The sun rules the roost in this new base-building survival game
Collect, build, survive: You collect resources alone or with a maximum of three other players, explore the world and construct machines that mine, harvest and create new things themselves.
This is how you build industrial chains to automate the processes in your base. Ultimately, you need the technologies and raw materials to permanently defy the whims of the star in the unforgiving environment – and then there are aliens.
Aliens: These also populate the planet and want to get to you. It’s all about making weapons, loading them and equipping them. Because the next horde of grumpy monsters is definitely coming.
When is StarRupture coming out?
We don’t know an official release date yet. However, the choice of words and the note are telling Available Soon
on Steam indicates that the Early access launch likely in 2024 will take place – probably not before.
This public test and development phase is expected to last a good year. So appears a final appearance in 2025 as realistic.
