The survival sequel Subnautica 2 was officially presented as part of the Xbox Partner Preview last night. Here you can find out all the information known so far!
Unknown Worlds, together with publisher Krafton, continues to rely on its successful survival series Subnautica and has now officially announced a real sequel with Subnautica 2. Two games in the Open Water series had previously been released.
Subnautica 2 will initially launch in Early Access, with it scheduled to launch in 2025 on the Steam, Epic Games Store and Windows Store platforms for the PC as well as via Game Preview on the Xbox Series X/S and also directly in the Xbox Game Pass.
In the sequel you will explore a completely new, alien ocean world with different biomes, strange creatures and hidden secrets. You can then play solo or in co-op with friends. You will be able to craft tools, build your own bases and navigate the depths of the alien world – all while writing your own story of survival.
The new multiplayer co-op is intended to offer you a fresh way to complete the survival experience together. Up to four players can explore the ocean environments together and face the challenges of the planet. Incidentally, Subnautica 2 builds on the tried and tested characteristics of the first games, but wants to deepen the experience even further with new biomes.
The early access model should give the community itself the chance to help shape the future fate of Subnautica 2. The feedback is continuously evaluated and taken into account by the development team during further development up to the full version.
