After the European Football Championship, the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will also come to an end. This also means that league play will begin again in many sports. With the start of the 2024/25 season, however, fans of many sports will have to get used to something new, as there has been a lot of swapping between many providers, meaning that new subscriptions will sometimes be necessary if you want to continue watching your favorite sport live on TV or stream.

Sky shows the US Open

Sky has a treat in store for tennis fans. The pay-TV provider secures The US Open. The rights to this have so far been held by the platform SportDeutschland.tv. This platform will continue to show the tournament, while Sky will only receive a sublicense. The US Open will start on August 26th.

NHL, DEL and DEL2 now on SportDeutschland.tv

The German Ice Hockey League (DEL) was previously shown on MagentaTV, and this will remain the case. However, you will also be able to watch the 364 main round games and up to 55 games in the playoffs in the future on the pay-per-view offer of SportDeutschland.tv, according to a Cooperation agreement between the two providers.

Volleyball national leagues now available in full on Dyn

Last season, Dyn already showed the men’s 1st volleyball Bundesliga and, thanks to a sublicense from Sport1, also the women’s 2nd Bundesliga. Now the men’s 2nd Bundesliga is also being added. It was previously broadcast by Sportdeutschland.tv and was originally only supposed to be shown on Dyn from 2025/26.

In addition, the broadcaster now holds the rights to the women’s 2nd Bundesliga directly and is no longer dependent on a cooperation with Sport1. This was made possible because Sport1 returned the rights, as the industry service DWDL reported.

One game per match day will still be shown on Sport1. Dyn will also broadcast the games of the men’s and women’s 2nd Volleyball Bundesliga free of charge on YouTube.
