Frostpunk 2 has been officially announced! The construction hit from 2018 thus has its long-awaited successor. Release: When does Frostpunk 2 appear?
A release date has been made not mentioned yet, but the platforms: Frostpunk 2 will, like its predecessor, both Steam as well as in Epic Store and at GOG to appear.
Story: What is Frostpunk 2 about?
Back to the Ice Age: The developers at 11 bit Studios have not yet revealed much about an overarching framework. What is certain, however, is that nothing has changed in the global misery. Even 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard, the entire planet continues to be plagued by an icy climate that has brought humanity to the brink of extinction.
Again you slip into the almost ungrateful role of the leader of a settlement, which you develop into a metropolis as the game progresses. Ingrateful because that puts a great deal of responsibility on your shoulders, which you like in the first Frostpunk Churning hard decisions demanded.

Innovations: What’s new in Frostpunk 2?
The developers are still keeping a low profile on the specific innovations in the tried and tested gameplay formula. But a statement by co-director Jakub Stokalski makes you sit up and take notice and make it pretty clear where the journey should go:
“We now have the human resources to focus on all aspects of the game from scale to production quality to the quality of the user experience. Our ambition is to develop more than just a successor.”
Frostpunk 2 is supposed to get bigger in every way. Stokalski continues this vision: Politics, society, technological progress – every aspect of the predecessor should be expanded and given even more depth. In addition, the Man’s conflict against his own nature play an important role.
Oil as a new resource: A gameplay innovation is already indicated: While in Frostpunk coal was the most important resource to avoid death by freezing, 30 years later everything revolves around the dear oil. The industrial focus will be on extracting it from the frozen earth. This is also evident in the latest edition of the New London Courrier:
The move away from coal and towards oil is of course a groundbreaking decision for society as a whole. Therefore, this decision will have not only supporters but also opponents that you will face.
