Super Mario Party has been available on the Switch since October 2018. Now the mini-game collection has received a fresh update – and that is quite impressive, thanks to an important feature.

The arcade-heavy mini-game collection Super Mario Party has been up to mischief on the Switch since October 2018 – and has been for around two and a half years. The release of a very relevant new update by Nintendo is all the more surprising.

The patch lifts the game to version number 1.1.0 and brings a long-awaited feature with it: online multiplayer. Thanks to the new update, you can now play Mario Party, Partner Party and the free-play mini-games with and against other gamers on the Internet.

According to Nintendo, 70 of the 80 mini-games in Super Mario Party can now also be enjoyed online. Only 10 minigames are further excluded from the Internet and can only be played locally, namely: Strike It Rich, Time to Shine, Take a Stab, All-Star Swingers, Rhythm and Bruise, Pep Rally, Wiped Out, Fiddler on the Hoof, Clearing the Table and Baton and On.

In online mode there are two options to choose from: Via Friend Match you can play together with friends, in a private game you can play with anyone using passwords. The invite friend feature is supported.
