Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII is the eighth DLC fighter in the Fighter Passes for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Here you can find out what his skills are and when you can play him.
Last night, Nintendo broadcast another issue of Sakurai Presents-san, introducing the new DLC fighter Sephiroth for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Although the villain from Final Fantasy 7 is quite a large character, he weighs only little and is therefore comparatively easy to catapult. With his long sword Masamune, however, Sephiroth has an enormous range.
As soon as the new fighter is in trouble, in other words: has taken damage beyond 80 percent, he changes to his winged form. Both mobility and speed increase slightly. In addition, Sephiroth can take a third jump. The additional super armor that is active in the winged form during every smash attack could be dangerous. As soon as Sephiroth knocks out another character or goes KO himself, he loses his wing again. If the player of Sephiroth h as more life remaining than his opponent, the winged form is only triggered when the damage value is higher. Conversely, Sephiroth accepts them earlier.
The Masamune sword also has a sweetspot, which is located slightly above the middle of the blade during stroking attacks. Here an attack does more damage. He is at the top in shock attacks.
Sephiroth’s special attacks include some interesting projectiles. Including a rechargeable flare, as well as an attack that inflicts damage on enemies only after a delay. His Up-B works similarly to Fox’s. His Ultra Smash not only deals damage, but also inflicts a random effect on opponents such as reverse controls or shield breaking. If you play with Cloud in his costume variants from Final Fantasy: Advent Children, his ultra-smash will look different.
The additional stage that the new DLC includes is the Northern Cave. It is similar to the simple structure of the battlefield, but events from the end of Final Fantasy VII take place in the background. A handful of new songs from Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children are also included in the package.
Sephiroth will be playable from December 22nd. But there is a way to play Sephiroth right now. Until the release of the DLC there will be a limited mode, the Sephiroth Challenge. Those who master this demanding boss fight can look forward to the DLC earlier.
