The new fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are regularly the subject of excessive speculation. Kingdom Hearts apparently also played a role in this context, but according to a new report, Disney Nintendo ultimately thwarted the calculation.

Many rumors about new characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate turned out to be wrong, some have proven to be true. Some fan requests have been fulfilled, but many have not yet. Sora from Kingdom Hearts has also been brought in for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate several times – and apparently there were plans to do so. However, Disney does not seem to have played a part in this.
The Kingdom Hearts series also has a history on Nintendo platforms and so the wish of many fans is obvious that Sora should please enrich the fighting squad in the current Super Smash Bros. The fact that this did not happen is obviously not due to Nintendo's lack of effort.

Imran Khan, editor of the usually well-informed Game Informer, now reports in a new edition of Kinda Funny Gamescastthat the Japanese did well to Disney in order to win Sora for the brawler. For unknown reasons, Disney Japan has always put a stop to this project. Khan himself is not aware of any further background in this regard.
If the information from Khan is confirmed, then it will probably not look rosy in the future as far as Sora in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is concerned. The Brawl receives Vo as part of the Fighters Pass. 2 another six new characters by the end of 2021, but Sora shouldn't be one of them.
