Verbatim has apparently discovered gaming for itself and is launching a new brand with SureFire Gaming. At the beginning there are external SSDs and HDDs, further products are to follow.
Verbatim has decided to have a say in the area of gaming peripherals in the future. Mice, headsets, storage media and more are to be offered in the future under the newly founded SureFire Gaming brand. Over 20 products are already in the planning stage and should be published in the coming months. It starts with external HDDs and SSDs, which should appeal to both PC and console gamers.
The SureFire GX3 gaming SSDs or HDDs come in a 125 x 80 x 17.5 mm plastic housing that is designed in a console look. Unusual are three illuminated LED strips with changing colors – in line with the current demand for lighting. Visually something different than the otherwise rather sparse boxes.
The memory is connected via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, with both a cable for USB-A and an adapter for USB-C included. In addition to connection cables and instructions, a formatting tool and Nero Backup software are also on board.
Two models are currently available. The GX3 gaming SSD is available with 512 MB for 99.99 dollars and with 1 TB of storage space for 148.99 dollars. The flash memory has read speeds of up to 450 MB / s and write speeds: up to 430 MB / s.
The GX3 gaming HDD is available as a 1 TB version for 72.99 dollars and as a 2 TB version for 95.99 dollars. Classic magnetic storage has read and write speeds of up to 140 MB / s.
