After a major update, the first season of “Black Ops 6” has officially kicked off. In addition to the new content, battle pass, weapons, maps, and everything else players get when the season goes live, it looks like the Call of Duty developers are giving away an unexpected gift.
In particular, those who spent a few hours playing Modern Warfare 2, last year’s Modern Warfare 3, or Warzone will find a surprise the next time they log into the game.

Following the release of the Season 1 update, it appears that the double XP, double weapon XP, and double Battle Pass level tokens that have been in the game for the past few years have made their way to Black Ops 6/Warzone.
While players knew that the integration would allow them to use Black Ops 6’s weapons, gadgets, and omni-movements in Warzone, no one expected that their entire library of unused Double XP tokens would also show up.
Shortly after the new season went live, many players shared their reactions after discovering a bunch of Double XP Tokens that could be used in the new game/Warzone. The tokens appear to be usable in multiplayer games, Zombies games, and Warzone. This is especially surprising because before Black Ops 6 launched, Activision said the tokens meeting carry over, but players can only use them in Warzone, as the free-to-play battle royale mode is the only one that maintains continuity with the last three games.
That’s why some believe this is just a bug that will soon be corrected, removing the tokens from Black Ops multiplayer and Zombies modes and limiting their availability in Warzone. Needless to say, doing this after giving players access to all tokens everywhere would cause a ruckus, but Activision hasn’t been shy about doing this in the past.
However, regardless of whether things change in the coming days, assuming you have tokens leftover from past games, it might be worth taking advantage of this in Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombies.
In other Season 1 news, Activision Blizzard has also begun cracking down on the use of VPNs in multiplayer games, with some players abusing VPNs to find matches outside of their own region in order to disrupt the game’s matchmaking mechanics and ultimately outmatch their opponents.
