You can now play Return to Khazad-dûm on Steam and the Xbox Series X/S. Until now, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria was only available on the Epic Games Store and the PlayStation 5.
At release, the Golden Update will be available for all platforms with numerous new content and improvements.

Since August 27, 2024, Return to Moria is also available on Steam and in Xbox Store It is a survival game that can be played alone or in co-op.
There is an introductory offer on Steam with a 20 percent discount, making Return to Moria available until September 10th 20 Euro costs.

None other than Gimli himself sends you out in the fourth age to reconquer the former Dwarf Kingdom. Of course, the classic survival aspects such as hunger, thirst and tiredness play a role.
One own base with storage boxes, crafting workshops and a place to sleep must be built, resources for the base and also equipment are collected and mined in the mines.
Of course, rare materials are only available in the dangerous depths, where you have to defend yourself against orcs and other monsters with an axe and other weapons.

What’s in the new update?
The Golden Update, as developer Free Range Games calls it, includes numerous new content and improvements to the existing game. Here is an overview:
- New sandbox mode
- Crossplay for all platforms
- 14 new weapons and armor
- Over 100 new building parts and decorations
- Upgrade for the construction system such as more stability and better locking of individual elements
- Pause function for single player mode
- Ambient music
- More control over the difficulty level
- Diverse Bugfixes
The update is already available on all platforms.
Although Return to Moria proved to be a real tip for Middle Earth and survival fans in our test, it was still lacking some fine-tuning in October 2023. You will soon find out whether this has changed in our test update.
