That was quick: The free-to-play shooter Synced, which was only released last year, is already offline again!
Some titles are a hit, others aren’t! The free-to-play shooter Synced, which was only launched last year, obviously falls into the latter category. The plug is now being pulled again.
Tencent has already sealed the end of the free-to-play shooter just one year after its launch. In an announcement on the official website, the company thanked all players who played Synced. However, they had to inform the valued members of the community that the game would be “discontinued in September”.
Depending on the region, the game will end on September 8th or 9th. Until then, you can continue to play Synced and the in-game content. However, purchases of such content and the registration of new accounts are no longer possible.
Tencent did not give any reasons for discontinuing the game, but it is likely that the number of players is simply too low and/or the concept has not paid off as hoped in terms of monetization.
Synced was released last year as a PC exclusive title via Steam and Epic Games Store. The reaction to the title was mixed; players complained about stability issues and a small player base, among other things.
