System Shock 3 is evolving through rather turbulent times. After reports of the developer studio being closed, there are signs of life again.

The development of System Shock 3 is apparently a constant ups and downs. After reports of massive layoffs at the developer studio OtherSide Entertainment, not only did the successor of the legendary System Shock 2 become quiet, it even looked as if we would never get the title Get face.
But now there is a sign of life again. Business and Development VP Walter Somol now spoke in the forum of the developer studio and confirmed that the studio still exists and, like most, is currently working in the home office. The new concept of the game is going well. Apparently you also switched to Unreal Engine 4, the gameplay there is slowly but surely coming together.
Earlier reports said the System Shock 3 team was completely fired after a few key people threw in the towel, including the author, lead programmer, and design director. It is worth noting in this context that Somol does not work in the Austin office originally intended for development, but in the Boston headquarters.
It's hard to say what exactly happened behind the scenes, but at least the game is still under development and we can hope for a revival of the once big name System Shock.
