Deutsche Telekom has been offering two Android phones in Europe since October 2022, the T Phone and the T Phone Pro. Sales in Germany are scheduled to start in 2023. The two devices are 5G-capable and are intended to make the new mobile communications standard widely accessible.
Are you toying with the idea of buying it, but don’t know which model to choose? Below we clarify how the T Phone and T Phone Pro differ.
display and size
The Pro variant (173.92 × 77.8 × 8.99 mm) is a bit larger than the regular version of the T Phone (166.61 × 76.42 × 8.76 mm). This difference in size is also reflected in the screen size of the displays. The T Phone Pro has a 6.82-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hertz. The display of the normal T Phone is only 6.52 inches in size, but otherwise does not differ from that of the Pro model.

The T Phone and the T Phone Pro in comparison
power
The two smartphones hardly differ from each other in terms of performance either. Both are equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset, which is often found in phones in this price range. The Pro model has 6 gigabytes of RAM, while the regular version has to be content with 4 gigabytes. However, due to the larger display of the Pro version, the difference in performance will probably not be noticeable.
Camera
Both T phones have a main camera with 50.3 megapixels and a video resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. In addition, both smartphones have the same macro camera installed, which triggers with 2 megapixels. The third camera on the Pro model is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the regular variant has a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The Pro version is also a little better equipped with the selfie camera. The front camera has a resolution of 15.9 megapixels, while the T Phone can only take selfies with 5 megapixels.
battery and charge
The T Phone has a battery with a capacity of 4,500 milliamp hours (mAh), while the T Phone Pro is slightly better equipped with 5,000 mAh. But the larger display also plays a role here and in the end the Pro model will probably only be able to last less longer than the normal version. Another advantage of the Pro model is the inductive charging, which you have to do without with the normal T-Phone. The devices are charged via cable via a USB-C connection.
Miscellaneous
The T Phone Pro comes with 128 gigabytes of storage space, while the T Phone has to be content with 64 gigabytes. With the help of memory cards, however, you can upgrade both models to up to 2 terabytes. Other aspects such as the fingerprint sensor or 5G reception are completely identical. The only other advantage of the T Phone Pro is the NFC chip, which is missing from the T Phone.
Prices
Of course, Telekom is a mobile phone provider, which is why the prices will vary greatly depending on the contract. However, Telekom also mentions the following basic price for the smartphones:
- T Phone 64 GB storage space and 4 GB RAM: 199 dollars
- T Phone Pro 128 GB storage space and 6 GB RAM: 249 dollars
If you are already with Telekom and are interested in the smartphone, there is also the option of adding the smartphone to the existing tariff by extending your contract.
