Tales of the Shire will probably be the weirdest Lord of the Rings spin-off, because it is a farming simulation à la Animal Crossing. You move into the village of Wasserau as a hobbit, plant vegetables in the garden, go fishing and enjoy a nice second breakfast with your hobbit neighbors. We were already able to play the cozy game and tell you what to expect there and why the little game already has a lot of potential: Tales of the Shire sounds like a very weird Lord of the Rings spin-off, but it’s already making your mouth water. Tales of the Shire is scheduled to be released in spring 2025 for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
