Game news Team Asobi: The team behind Astros Playroom is growing and officially joins PlayStation Studios
This isn’t the first time Team Asobi has tried: the team is behind the tiny Astro Bot franchise that is directly tied to the PlayStation universe. Good news for the organization: Sony just promoted it and made it a real studio that has joined Sony Interactive Entertainment.
So far, Team Asobi has only been a small team within the Sony Japan Studio (a recently closed entity): Still, it is impossible not to underscore all of their efforts for the Japanese manufacturer, since they are behind the franchise; Astro Bot, the true spearhead of new PlayStation technologies. We owe him, to name but a few, Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PlayStation VR on PS4 or Astro’s Playroom, the sparkling title that is installed directly on PS5 and uses the capabilities of DualSense. Today it’s about that PlayStation blog that Nicolas Doucet, head of the Asobi team, announces good news: The team is now a real studio.
And especially, it is now a full division of PlayStation Studios within Sony Interactive Entertainment
Incidentally, the person who is also the creative director of his studio is revealing a new logo, just as lively as his ambitions:
As we grow and challenge ourselves to do bigger things, our core mission remains the same: bringing you PlayStation magic and innovation, and making you smile with fun and colorful games for all ages.
With this expansion, Team Asobi has access to greater resources to carry out larger projects. : From now on we just have to see how and when all of this is implemented … and made available to the public.
