The studio behind Dead or Alive is very fit and quite busy, and has finished Nioh 2, the full editions of which, slated for early February, will make it more dead than alive in development. In fact, we can now discuss the rest.

Fumihiko Yasuda, the director of the two episodes of Nioh, was recently interviewed by the website The player. In this interview, the past, present and of course future are discussed.
He is asked why he previously insisted that there was no Nioh 3 in the works. Here is his answer:
For a sequel, Team Ninja would like to concentrate on working on new titles for the time being. So there really is no plan for Nioh 3 right now. But after creating new projects and gaining new experiences and skills from those potential new projects, at some point I want to come back to the series, use all the experience and new skills we gain from some new projects, and then maybe get back to the series that point and create an even bigger game to beat Nioh and Nioh 2. Create something even better.
It is therefore understood that a break is necessary. In his resume, which shows traces of Ninja Gaiden (he was a level designer in the second part in particular), he is asked here about a return of the adventures of Ryu Hayabusa in solo:
There’s nothing to announce or specify today, but if the Ninja Gaiden series hadn’t existed, Nioh wouldn’t have existed. So this is a really important series for Team Ninja. We don’t have anything specific to announce at the moment, but I want to say that I look forward to possible news for an announcement in the near future.
This could revive fans’ hopes of beating them all, muscular and technical, especially since we could understand that information is about to reach us. But maybe there’s a new license in the kitchen right now, who knows.
Waiting, On February 5th, Nioh 2 Complete Edition will be released on PC and PS4, while Nioh Collection, including Nioh Remastered Complete Edition and Nioh 2 Remastered Complete Edition, will be released on PS5.
