We know Dying Light 2 will offer significant lifespan, but what about the long-term follow-up? Techland developers answer the question. Explanations.
It would take 500 hours to complete Dying Light 2 from start to finish, although Techland was very quick to go back to his words and soften the angles a bit. Offering lots of content is good, but long-term follow-up is even better. And in this area we can say that the first episode has done very well for several years thanks to frequent updates.
The ransom of success?
The goal seems to be the same for this second episode as announced by the game’s official Twitter account:
Want to know what happens AFTER release? We guarantee to continue expanding the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human with new stories, locations, in-game events and more for at least 5 years after release.
And all the fun things you love!
Massive content for Dying Light 2
That is said. Five years of content does indeed seem like an above-average follow-up. The first title, which dates back to 2015, was still entitled to some new updates until recently, that is. It remains to be seen at what intervals this monitoring will take place, because annual maintenance is obviously not the same for the player (and the studio) as content delivered every month. For example, we remember the Hellraid DLC, which was first presented as a standalone game a few years ago before eventually taking the form of “Big Content”.
Dying Light 2 is still slated for February 4th, 2022 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
