Good news for Tekken 7, the fighting video game released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in June 2017. Its director, Katsuhiro Harada, has announced that the title already exceeds 5 million copies Since December 2019, an important fact because in July of this year the four million were reached, which means that in the second half of the year nothing more and nothing less than one million additional copies have been added.
Tekken 7 is today the fourth title of the best-selling franchise, being surpassed by the third, fifth and second installments. However, this is the most successful game in the franchise since 2005, when Tekken 5 was released. With this data, The Tekken series is close to 50 million games sold. A possible push could be the launch of this seventh installment on Nintendo Switch, something that the game director himself has mentioned on occasion.
However, and for now, to celebrate the 5 million copies sold of Tekken 7, Harada has updated the art of the game with all the characters adding Ganryu, Leroy, Zafina and Fakhumran, the fighters of the third season of the title.
