Another year, another impressive achievement from Tekken 7as the latest installment in the legendary 3D fighting game series has passed 9 million total sales Since its launch in 2015. The news was announced on Twitter by game director and notoriously hate-demanding Harada.
The announcement comes with some shiny new art to celebrate the milestone’s legacy, as well as that of the series, and to thank the fans who have supported the game over the years. This comes just days after the announcement of the new Tekken World Tour series for 2022, which will see the game’s best players compete across the world.
Tekken 7’s continued growth is insane when you consider that the game first landed in arcades in a limited capacity seven years ago, and it continues upward as new games of the same genre continue to emerge. It wasn’t until last year in 2021 that Tekken 7 celebrated 7 million sales, proving that the fighter’s momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
“Tekken 7” sales exceeded 9 million (series record).
And recorded sales of more than 53 million copies for the series. Thanks to everyone, the actual sales of “Tekken 7” exceeded the all-time high of 9 million units (the cumulative sales of the series exceeded 53 million units).#Tekken #Tekken7 #Tekken pic.twitter.com/mtOUaUtzHe

Tekken 7 has been supported over the years by many new DLC characters, levels and balance patches that go a long way in keeping things fresh, and a thriving competitive scene despite COVID halting all traditional tournaments The title, but still survives and usually thrives.
With this announcement, people continue to focus on the future of the series. It’s worth noting that Tekken 8 is one of the featured games in Nvidia’s Geforce Now data-mining, and with the upcoming release of the Tekken animated series on Netflix, it looks like it’s gearing up for a major update to the series. Who knows, maybe we’ll see something exciting at the non-E3 developer stream later this week?
