If you’re looking for game fodder but don’t necessarily want to spend money on it, you can currently get Tell Me Why, a title from Dontnod’s creators of Life is Strange, for free.
June is also known as Pride month – and this is once again being celebrated in a special way. For the PC via Steam as well as for the Xbox via the Microsoft Store you could secure the adventure Tell Me Why by Dontnod for this occasion. The title of the French development studio, which is also behind the hit series Life is Strange, had already been offered free of charge in 2021 and 2022 on the occasion of Pride Month. Anyone who missed the opportunity to strike back then can now catch up.
The episodic adventure debuted in 2020 and follows the story of Tyler and Alyson Ronan. As the twins struggle to cope with the loss of their mother, they share a unique ability: a telepathic connection that allows them to delve into each other’s memories of troubled childhoods. As the game progresses, you must help the characters deal with the painful experiences of the past.
The risk of Dontnod and the special feature of the game: For the first time in a video game apart from small indie productions, you also play a transgender character with Alyson’s brother. To ensure that this ambitious step does not backfire, the studio attached great importance to authenticity. Among other things, the makers were advised by the LGBTQ association GLAAD.
