Tennokangyear Warframe event, will return July 16 as a digital events only. Warframe’s annual celebration will bring community giveaways, future content showcases, panel discussions, and more; all available for free on streaming platforms in Great White North.
Last year, Tennocon surpassed 1 million viewers in-game and online listening on Youtube or Twitch. In terms of in-game engagement, over 700,000 players jumped into the game to check out Tennocon weekend’s upcoming Early Access.
“TennoCon is designed to give Warframe players a behind-the-scenes look at our game development, while also taking a moment to celebrate the community of players that made Warframe what it is today,” said Sheldon Carter, COO of Digital Extremes. “We’re planning a series of jaw-dropping announcements and disclosures, coupled with an interactive in-game experience that will truly make TennoCon bigger and better than ever.”
This Tennocon is especially interesting for a variety of reasons. On the one hand, we’re currently in the mysterious period of Warframe, and the narrative direction is still largely speculative. Back in The New War, players wrap up a years-long journey to eliminate major hostile threats, so new ones are just beginning to emerge.
Second, Digital Extremes keeps it fully digital while other events are rushing back into physical space. It’s obviously mixed, as it’s always nice to see live audience reactions to big reveal and special Q&A moments, but obviously safety comes first. Also, from the numbers above, it doesn’t seem like the team will have a hard time getting the message across.
We’ll find out more about what to expect at Tennocon in the weeks leading up to the event. But until then, why don’t you check out our interview with Rebecca Ford for some of the biggest features of Zariman’s Angels. Or, if you haven’t been involved in a while, here’s a look back at everything that was added in the recent Zariman Angel update.
