Actually, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown was supposed to appear later this year, but so far it has been conspicuous by its absence. A planned showcase is fueling new hope, despite all the rumours.
For the fact that Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown should actually appear in 2023, the information is rather thin. The developers last reported in April with a handful of information about the game. Since then: radio silence. Only the rumor mill has been dedicated to the game in the last few days and speculated that the release might not happen until the first quarter of 2024.
Excitingly, publisher Nacon has now spoken up – not with a specific date, but with the announcement of a showcase for the coming week. Which of course raises a little hope that the open-world racing game could still be released this year. Well, maybe we’ll finally find out a concrete date during the showcase.
said Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Showcase is scheduled for July 12 at 7 p.m be transmitted and is called TDU Connect. In the approximately 30-minute show, the gameplay of the racer will also be shown for the first time. Creative Director Alain Jarniou will also be present, who will reveal new details about the game and some “surprises”.
The only question that remains is when the game will finally appear. Latest official statements indicated 2023 as the date for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while the old-gen versions have apparently been discarded, but still appear in financial report documents as target platforms. Well, let’s hope that Nacon will finally clarify things in the coming week.
