The new racer Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown will be released on September 12th – but the game’s content will continue even after the release. The makers have now communicated their post-launch plans.
NACON and KT Racing have confirmed that the upcoming racing game Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown will receive fresh content even after its release. This is no surprise, as the title was designed from the start as a game-as-a-service concept. That’s why you can look forward to fresh content after launch, such as new game modes, regular seasons, new vehicles, activities and more.
A roadmap has now provided more details on the planned content for the first year after release. Season 1 will start immediately after the release on September 12th, bringing with it a series of races and challenges. You can collect solar points to climb the rankings. There will be 60 levels in the first season, 50 Sharps/Streets clan progression levels and a free Solar Pass with 25 levels that contains various rewards, including cosmetic items and an exclusive car.
Season 2 follows later with the comeback of Ibiza Town, a well-known location from Test Drive Unlimited 2. It is now celebrating its return after 13 years. You can explore the city and its surroundings on a 1:1 scale and get a completely different experience than that offered on Hong Kong Island in the main game. There is also an island-exclusive clan progression with 20 new levels, another Solar Pass with rewards and cars and more.
Season 3 is dedicated to the clan war between the Sharps and the Streets on Hong Kong Island and Ibiza/Eivissa. There are 30 new clan levels and additional content that will be announced at a later date. And the fourth season will focus on the Casino, another iconic location in the Unlimited franchise – also known from Test Drive Unlimited 2. Here you can use your virtual currency in a variety of activities, including poker and slot machines. In addition to the 50 levels, the Casino will give you the opportunity to win exclusive new cars, cosmetic items and rewards.
In addition to the four seasons, regular updates are planned to improve the gaming experience. Cameras and steering wheel animations in the first-person perspective are also being continuously optimized. And if it’s up to the makers, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown will be “kept active for many years to come,” and player feedback will also be taken into account.
Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown will be released on September 12, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
