Tetsuya Mizuguchi (Rez, Tetris Effect) on an all-new game for PlayStation VR 2? The game director is on the job, but he doesn’t want to say too much. A hint for his future project?
The first steps of PS VR 2 are encouraging with several games announced and developers very interested in this PS5 headset. The last of them is none other than Tetsuya Mizuguchi, father of the wonderful Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect.
The creator of Rez on a PS VR 2 game?
Will Tetsuya Mizuguchi bring PS VR 2 a new secret journey? The Japanese developer says he’s very interested in the PlayStation 5’s virtual reality headset.
I can’t say anything concrete…but we are very interested. We’re thinking about how we can push virtual reality and improve VR gaming, so we’re very interested in the new headsets. We’re very interested in the PlayStation VR 2
.Tetsuya Mizuguchi about VGC.
He and his teams are therefore “very interested”. It might be too early to confirm that a title is already in development. In 2019, the creator had shared his desire to bring the new consoles (via VGC).
We want to make a game for the next consoles that I hope will have a much higher resolution. New machines and new technologies have generally always been a great source of inspiration for me. From my early days in the arcade to VR and AR more recently. So yeah, I’m very excited for what’s to come.
It even seems that Tetris Effect could return to PS VR 2. At the last State of Play, partially dedicated to the PS5 headset, Sony revealed the gameplay of Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead Saints & Sinner 2 and No Man’s Sky. Resident Evil 4 Remake will also be available compatible PlayStation VR 2.
