Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. This little free addition to Cyberpunk 2077 proves it by making it even more beautiful and immersive than ever before.
For those with a cyberpsycho machine, Cyberpunk 2077 is already a real slap in the face. But CD Projekt RED may have been too generous with the ray tracing and path tracing effects. This simple mod corrects these excesses, paradoxically, to greatly improve the overall visual quality.
A small implant to make Cyberpunk 2077 more beautiful and realistic
For CD Projekt RED, the incredible Cyberpunk 2077 adventure is over, the Polish studio is already working on Cyberpunk 2 from its new offices in Boston. In the meantime, modders continue to make their more or less small contributions to Night City to keep it going for more and more lights. This is especially true of Disable Fake Lights with Path Tracing by sosuine, available on the page Nexus Mods from Cyberpunk 2077.
As the name suggests, this simply removes the light sources that come from billboards or even doors and windows. By enabling both ray tracing and path tracing (assuming you have a sufficiently robust PC, of course), the overall visual quality has been severely “polluted”. By removing these excess lights, Cyberpunk 2077 looks more realistic and less aggressive to the eyes. You can see this from several comparison images posted by the modder on imgsli, cited in the source below.
Night City can sleep on its two neon lights while waiting for Cyberpunk 2
Thanks to these small details and the enormous efforts made by CD Projekt RED to restore its image, Cyberpunk 2077 is more than ever the striking futuristic RPG it should have been four years ago. Especially since the title still seems to hold many secrets while waiting for a sequel that promises to be extremely ambitious in many respects. In any case, Night City has now fully earned its nickname “City of Dreams”.
