There are only a few hours left until the next big project in the franchise premieres on Disney+ Star Wars: The Acolyte. The series, set in the High Republic, will introduce a host of brand new concepts and never-before-seen weapons, such as the laser whip. However, it looks like there will be another even more unique lightsaber.
In an interview with the American media Rotten Tomatoesthe showrunner of the series, Leslye Headland, assured that, in addition to the already famous laser whip, we will see a unique laser sword that has never been seen in the franchise created by George Lucas.
“When I took it to the prop department… they said, ‘You can’t do that, that’s not something that’s going to work’… But they were able to make my dream come true.”
Apparently, this weapon was so unusual that even the members of the prop team did not believe its manufacture was possible. However, according to Headland, they were finally able to build this unique sword, fulfilling the dream of the showrunner of the series.
It’s completely unknown what kind of weapon or sword it will be, but considering the creativity behind the laser whip, it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw something that would stump even the most die-hard Star Wars fans. The Acolyte
