Of all the characters that star The Boysthe one that stands out the most without a doubt is The Patriot. The superhero played by Antony Starr has enamored countless viewers and his great performance has placed him as one of the great actors of the genre. However, we have bad news if you want to see him in other superhero films.
In a podcast chat Happy, Sad, Confusedthe New Zealand actor revealed that he has no intentions of playing any kind of superhero again after ending his supervillain role as The Patriot in the fifth season of The Boys.
“I’m getting older, my body doesn’t want to do much action anymore,” Starr said. While many hoped he might play a hero or villain in future Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Studios projects, it seems Starr prefers quieter roles, away from action and focused on the emotional.
Still, it looks like Antony Starr will be giving it his all in the fifth and final season of The Boyswhich will close the story of Homelander and Butcher after a series that has positioned itself as one of the most watched on Prime Video thanks to its bloody, visceral and bizarre yet laughable moments.
