The next animated film to use the Dragon Ball Super license continues its teasing exercise as promised, revealing who some of its protagonists will play.
Having delivered an initial trailer and recently the movie poster, Toei Animation continues to prepare the ground for the release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero in 2022. As if respecting a long tradition in the series’ history (and the Japanese title), the studio is today announcing the subtitle for the feature film, as well as some of the seiyū who will voice the new characters in this new chapter:
We don’t need a superhero
In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero – The Birth of the New Red Ribbon Army! (hence) players will be able to find some voices here and there in several video game productions. This is how it unfolds:
- Doctor hedo, the character disguised as a superhero, is a scientist who, like one of his famous colleagues, enjoys creating androids. He is played by the actor Miyu Irinowho have favourited Sora in the Kingdom Hearts series
- magenta, in a neatly fitting suit, is the president of Red Pharmaceuticals, the showcase that the Red Ribbon Army officially displays to the public. He is played by the actor Kensuke “volcano” tawho have favourited Nagamasa doubled in the adaptation Anime from My Hero Academy
- Carmine, Magenta’s (very) great driver and assistant, is embodied by Ryota Takeuchiwho have favourited the voice of Darui in the anime version of Naruto Shippuden or Reaper in Overwatch
Despite these few details about the “people” of the next Dragon Ball Super movie, the two mysterious warriors of the Red Ribbon Army still keep all their secrets. For now, only their actors are known:
- Gamma 1 is embodied by Mamoru Miyano, a regular at J-RPG for voicing the cheeky Ryuji in Persona 5 and the very respectful Ignis in Final Fantasy XV
- Gamma 2 is embodied by Hiroshi Kamiya, the voice of Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan and Trafalgar Law in the version Anime de One Piece
