Ryan Murphy, the creator of shows like “American Horror Story” and “Glee,” is back with a new show, and this time the premise is…interesting.

If there’s one thing you can count on when it comes to Ryan Murphy, it’s that you can always expect a show where people will be talking about him, even if it might not be for the right reasons. Most recently, the television producer is producing the second season of the Netflix series “The Lyle and Eric Menendez Story.” But just yesterday, FX ordered a new series from Murphy, this time based on the 2016 graphic novel Beauty, about how you can acquire a perfect body by contracting an STD. I haven’t read the manga yet so I can’t comment on its quality, but it’s certainly a story.

According to Deadline , the show is expected to begin production in November and will consist of 11 episodes. It also boasts a sizable cast, including frequent Murphy collaborator Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos (Twister), Jeremy Pope (Hollywood) and Ashton Kutcher ( Two and a Half Men). There are currently no details on how the comic adaptation will be handled, such as whether it will be a straight comic or just an interpretation of the comic, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Publisher Image Comics describes the series: “Modern society is obsessed with outer beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee that you would become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of beauty , most people can take advantage of this, but detectives can do it. [Drew] foster and [Kara] Vaughn would soon discover that this came at a terrible cost. ”

There’s no word yet on who will play Foster or Vaughn, but the search for the female lead is still ongoing. I’m sure this book will be as non-controversial as Murphy’s other works.
