Given the success of Elden Ring, all eyes are now on the Shadow of the World Tree DLC. Clearly the players are getting impatient. Fortunately, the waiting time shouldn’t be (too) long.
Without a doubt, Elden Ring: Shadow of the World Tree is highly anticipated. It has to be said that the base game was a phenomenal success, exceeding initial expectations in terms of sales and critical reception. Upon its release, the game received widespread acclaim and quickly set impressive sales records. Bandai Namco had hoped to reach 4 million sales in the first few months of release, an ambitious goal compared to the 3.8 million units sold by Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in a similar period. Elden Ring not only met this goal, but far exceeded it: the game had almost 900,000 logged-in players on Steam in its first weekend and never fell below 500,000 logged-in players thereafter.
Elden Ring, the monster is waiting for its DLC
Apparently the world of video games is in turmoil with the impending announcement of the long-awaited Elden Ring expansion titled Shadow of the World Tree. This anticipation is about to reach its peak as FromSoftware prepares to unveil the first gameplay trailer in a few hours, promising to lift the veil on the release date. Get ready because at 4pm (French time) we should have not only a trailer but also a release date.
Previous leaks had speculated a February release, but a recent Dealabs report from renowned leaker billbil-kun points to a further delay, putting the possible release at June 21, 2024. While this information is not 100% confirmed, it is based but following hints from publisher Bandai Namco plans to unveil physical editions of the game on this day, which include both the base game and the DLC… In general, the Frenchman is not wrong.
According to the same report, players will have the choice between two editions: an Edition of the Year for 79.99 dollars and a Collector’s Edition for 259.99 dollars. The first will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while the second will also be available on PC. Could this expansion be released before June and then benefit from a physical release? The speculations will soon be confirmed or denied. And obviously the pressure is enormous. We can be sure that the new trailer will completely shake up the Internet and monopolize social networks for several hours, a bit like a GTA 6. Let’s hope that the wait for the release does not last too long.
