Star Wars: The Bad Batch can’t be that “bad”, because Disney has just announced that it will continue the animated series. Season 2 is firmly planned for 2022, unfortunately there is no more specific date yet. Or to quote Disney + President Michael Paull from the official press release:
“The fans got the action and drama from Star Wars: The Bad Batch was enthusiastically received, and we’re excited to have that Star-Wars-Animation universe is being expanded on Disney +. As the official streaming home for the Star-Wars-Franchise, we can’t wait for the second season of this fan-favorite animated series. ”
Showrunner Dave Filoni also has a say and thanks the fans:
“The entire Lucasfilm Animation team and I would like to thank Disney + and our fans for the opportunity to continue telling the Bad Batch story.”
And if you are now in the mood to see an animated representation of a Season 2 logo, then give yourself this brilliant animation:

Unsurprisingly, The Bad Batch: Season 2 is running exclusively on Disney +. So you need a paid subscription to watch the show.
What do we know about the content of Season 2?
To put it briefly and concisely: Nüscht. But of course you can draw conclusions about what the second season is about. We think it’s very unlikely that the main characters will change drastically – so season 2 will also be about the renegade clones and protégé Omega, who have to prove themselves in a galaxy that is increasingly subjugated by the empire.
Without spoiling too much: The fact that some well-known characters from the Star Wars universe appear in Season 1 at least suggests that we will also get to see the bigger picture of this era of empire in the second season. For example, the resistance that is gradually emerging. In addition, The Bad Batch heralds the era of the stormtroopers, of course.

The Bad Batch Review: Not a Mandalorian, but still a must for Star Wars fans
The question of the narrative speed is also exciting: If Season 1 has to put up with one point of criticism, it is the rather slow narrative flow. Many episodes tell more or less self-contained stories that here and there focus on a nice, but ultimately rather irrelevant topic. For example, it shows how Jabba got his rancor. Is Season 2 picking up speed here? Or will The Bad Batch, like the Clone Wars series, remain a rather leisurely show in which many self-contained individual stories are told?
We’ll find out in 2022. And if you now think: “Uff, no, The Bad Batch doesn’t interest me, but what about the other planned Star Wars series”, then take a look at our series overview. We list you all the upcoming Star Wars series that are planned after The Mandalorian on Disney +.
