It was essentially designed to showcase the power of the then-new console, and was also an impressive demonstration of the DualSense controller’s haptics and adaptive triggers. The new game expands on that concept, with six star systems to explore and over 80 levels.

Astro Bot is actually a full game based on the initial tech demo. Your goal is still to find Astro’s scattered crew, and you’ll be able to unlock 15 new abilities for Astro to use in the game.
The Asobi team also highlighted features that take advantage of the DualSense controller. The developers say controls have been improved and platforming should feel more responsive. If you enjoyed the speedrunning challenges of Astro’s Playroom, you’ll be happy to know that Astro Bot includes levels you can repeat to improve your times.
“Astro Bot” will be released on PS5 on September 6th and will be available for pre-order on June 7th.
