PlayStation is up to something, that’s for sure. Rumors are circulating about Sony’s next big State of Play. It shouldn’t be long before the new PS5 shows up.
Anyway, E3 is over, there won’t be any this year. From now on manufacturers, publishers, even some studios do their business all alone in their corner. At least when they’re not showing off at the Game Awards or Summer Game Fest. This last event has become a real must-see. In addition to a big show of its own, the label organizes several summer events related to video games.
But with gamers around the world patiently awaiting summer to hear about the next big games, Playstation fans could be content ahead of this summer’s celebrations.
A state of play soon?
If we are to believe the rumours, Sony is preparing a big event, some kind of State of Play XXL, and it should happen very soon. At least that’s what Jeff Grubb reports to us again, often very well informed on the subject. During a recent podcast, Grubb claimed Sony should give us a date by May or June. In any case, as he said before, this next big State of Play is supposed to happen before Summer Game Fest 2023.
PlayStation should delight its fans
The noose tightens again and the date is getting closer and closer. The last time Jeff Grubb had announced the arrival of an event, he had hit the mark. Doubts are therefore allowed, even if, as always, we will wait for formalization from Sony.
The last time the manufacturer showed its show was a few weeks ago with a small State of Play dedicated to Final Fantasy 16, one of the big exclusive releases coming to PS5. But other very big games are expected this year (if all goes well), such as Silent Hill 2 Remake or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
We’re also waiting for news on any projects in development, most of which haven’t even been revealed yet, such as the AAA from Firewalk, a studio recently acquired by Sony. We also hope to have the rights to new games on PSVR 2, because if the new virtual reality headset wasn’t a hit, almost 300,000 users are patiently waiting for new features or even exclusive offers.
And you, what do you expect from this next big state of play?
