In “The Book of Boba Fett” on Disney+, Mando is announced as a prominent visitor. Netzwelt reveals how Boba’s story is secured until “The Mandalorian” season 3.
- “The Book of Boba Fett” is already fast approaching the finale, only 3 episodes remain.
- “Star Wars” fans can look forward to a reunion with Din Djarin from “The Mandalorian”.
- This already gives a hint that Boba’s story will lead him to Mandalore.
In “The Rising Storm,” the 4th episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” on Disney+, Boba’s healing process in the bacta tank ended, and with it the glimpse into the past that bridges the time gap between Boba’s supposed death in “The Return the Jedi Knight” and his return in “The Mandalorian” season 2.
Now the story can fully focus on the present and thus on the upcoming fight against the Pyke Syndicate. Boba was unable to find allies on Tatooine, so he needs outside support.
The final moments of the episode already reveal who we can expect in episode 5: Din Djarin aka Mando! At least his well-known musical theme was heard when Fennec Shand talked about buying help with credits.
In fact, Mando’s appearance in “The Book of Boba Fett” makes sense, after all, within the last 3 episodes, an arc is drawn to the 3rd season of “The Mandalorian”, which will probably await us in winter 2022.
Presumably Mando will defeat the Pyke Syndicate together with Boba and Fennec and then leave for Mandalore – together with Boba. While Boba enjoys his freedom, his desire for a tribe that will serve as a family to him seems unfulfilled on Tatooine.
While Boba isn’t a Mandalorian, that doesn’t stop him from fighting for the Mandalorians and possibly joining them afterwards. In the now-de-canon Star Wars novels, Boba even became Mandalor, the leader of Mandalore.
So Boba’s story would continue in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, while Fennec might stay behind as the new daimyo on Tatooine, a role that seems to suit her far better than Boba.
After the battle for Mandalore in The Mandalorian season 3, Boba could start a happy new life as a Mandalorian while Din Djarin visits – or even has to save – Grogu.
Ben Solo vs. Grogu
Of course, “The Mandalorian” won’t want to be without Grogu for long, after all, fans love the little guy. Also, fans know that Grogu isn’t really safe with Luke Skywalker, since one of Luke’s Jedi students is Ben Solo.
From the Sequel trilogy we know that Luke sensed the dark side in Ben and therefore considered killing Ben. Feeling betrayed, Ben fled to Snoke, but before doing so, killed any Padawans who didn’t want to join the dark side.
Grogu is currently not in danger, there are almost 19 years between the end of season 2 of “The Mandalorian” and Ben Solo’s time with Luke, but it is clear that Grogu will not stay with Luke permanently.
The question remains whether “The Book of Boba Fett” will one day have a sequel or whether Boba’s story will be considered complete after “The Mandalorian” season 3. Either way, we can expect numerous other “Star Wars” productions in which Boba could take on a small or larger role.
