Notice: Spoilers for the third season of The Boys
With the arrival of the fourth season, The Boys has demonstrated once again that it has no qualms about showing high-voltage scenes with blood, violence or, simply, grotesque situations. Amazon Prime Video, luckily, has given the green light to all of these eccentricities… except one.
Through an interview with the American media The Movie Dweeb, Eric Kripkeshowrunner of the series, revealed that Amazon asked to be more sensitive with the hilarious but disturbing scene in which Profundo has sex with an octopus during the episode of Herogasm.
“The funny thing is, the only thing they said to me all season – and we weren’t going to do that anyway – was, ‘Could you, maybe, not have Deep One having sex with an octopus in so many scenes?’ Because bestiality is a touchy subject for standards.’ They said, ‘We’re not saying you can’t do it.'”
To the surprise of many, this scene, although quite unusual, was not as controversial as expected. Everyone was aware that at no time was a real animal hurt and everything seen was done with CGI, so there were practically no protests from associations.
Even so, Kripke assures that we have not yet seen the craziest in this fourth season of The Boysso we will have to wait until the next few weeks to see scenes that can really take our eyes off the screen or, in any case, make us laugh like never before because of the situation in which they occur.
