The youth protection authorities have become much more merciful with hard action games over the years, but one or the other title still causes concerns. The Callisto Protocol is past its worries.
There is no question that The Callisto Protocol will be a pretty heavy and brutal number, as a kind of spiritual successor to Dead Space. The fans’ concerns were correspondingly great as to whether the game would be released in Germany at all and if so uncut. Although the USK has become much more generous over the years, there are still one or the other outliers – see the shortened USK version of Dying Light 2.
In the case of The Callisto Protocol, however, the all-clear has now been given. As Striking Distance Studios and Krafton announced today, the game will be released uncut in Germany with an official age rating of 18 and over. So there will be no differences to the international version.
One more reason to look forward to it. The Callisto Protocol will be released on December 2nd for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
