The Coalition: Impressive tech demos with Unreal Engine 5

Coalition, demos, engine, impressive, tech, Unreal

The Coalition, the studio behind the Gears of War series, is slowly coming back to life. As part of the Games Developer Conference, the studio showed some very impressive tech demos.

The Coalition unveiled two new tech demos at GDC, both created with an early access version of Unreal Engine 5 for Xbox Series X, and both of them are bloody impressive.

On the one hand, it is a tech demo about character rendering, which impresses with an enormous level of detail. The other demo, named Alpha Point, shows a landscape of alien ruins.

According to The Coalition, both demos were captured on the Xbox Series X to show their possibilities with regard to the Unreal Engine 5, but should not have anything to do with a new game.

There was a first tech demo of the Unreal Engine 5 for the PS5 a few months ago and Xbox gamers can obviously look forward to it as well. First games with the engine shouldn’t be too long in coming, including Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.

But now enough chatter, check out the two tech demos:
